Be Still And Know!

Be Still and Know The picture above was taken by a dear friend of mine.  It is one of my most favorite spots on earth.  I grew up in deep- south Alabama.   It was an almost an everyday occurrence to drive around the beach front that snugly framed the small coastal seaport that we proudly called home.

This is the one place on earth that I could sit perfectly still; looking out over the water, processing whatever was on my heart and be utterly relaxed and satisfied.  The smell of the salt air, the sticky humidity, lapping of the water against the seawall, pelicans fishing contentedly, and gulls lazily flying like a silk ribbon in the sky would always send me to another place and still does when I get to travel home.

It was a place that God and I had serious talks, worked through hard decisions, and just emptied my heart as I quietly sat there.    On many days, it was just a place to chill and relax before heading home.

Seeing this picture reminded me that no matter how busy we are living life and doing the things of God, we will fall flat of our face unless we STOP and take the time to BE Still before God.

To grow in our relationship with God, we must get still and soak in his presence!

God desires you…he desires me…to get still before him in the hecticness of our lives and acknowledge HIM.

  • Acknowledge he is the God that cares about what you are going through.
  • Acknowledge he is the God who can work out the impossible in our lives.
  • Acknowledge he is the God who is control of it ALL.
  • Acknowledge that without him…we are NOTHING!

Don’t wrestle, fret or worry through what is happening in your life and try to control the situation.

Be Still. Trust… and remember God is there with you.

Right now I have a difficult situation in my life, and giving it to God is the only way through it.  I challenge you and myself to lay the hardest situation in our lives in God’s lap and get still before him for the outcome.  I don’t think even one of us will be disappointed.

Many Blessings!
