Greatness In A Crowd So Young!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Kids Collage 3 While teaching the Bible lesson to over 100 kids at an after-school Bible club, you could literally hear a pin drop as they scooted in to hear the lesson.  I explained, when Jesus was teaching a huge crowd of people, He proceeded up a steep mountainside so the people could see and hear Him as He taught.    “There was nothing any of them could hide from Jesus that day, because He was the Son of God.  As His eyes scanned the crowd, He had the power to see inside their hearts and know their needs and their potential.  You see, He loved them with a love that is so deep it can’t even be measured!  If we took all the water out of the ocean, rivers, and streams and put it into a gigantic measuring cup, it would be nothing compared to how big and deep God’s love was.  He has that same kind of love for you boys and girls!”

It was at that frozen moment my heart began to stir as my eyes scanned the children sitting at my feet.  Their innocent eyes stared with belief, their faith was at its most heightened state, and their soul- life was drinking in the nourishment!  The greatness of this young crowd rushed through me as I realized Jesus, the same Jesus teaching on the side of the mountain, could not only see into the hearts of these children; he sees their worth, their potential, and their future.  They are learning truth, and will one day share that truth with the crowds of the next generation!

Taking advantage of every opportunity to teach, nurture, love, and walk beside the priceless treasures God has placed in our lives is not just important…it is vital.

“Even so it is not the will of your Father in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.   Matthew 18:14

Do we wait for BIG opportunities to come?

If you do, they may never come.  It is done by simply teaching them, and showing them God in thousands of tiny ways every day, every week, every month, in every way you can, for as long as you can, to as many as you can!
