He Writes The Story!

I remember packing to go to a Christian college instead of a state college, because all of a sudden my graduation plans changed as God said, “Prepare to serve me!” Even though people I loved said, “You will never last”.   I knew turning back was never an option because of God’s message.

I remember it like it was yesterday when God spoke into my heart… “He’s the one!”, the one created for me before I was conceived, the one who would become my best friend, the love of my life, my soul mate, the father of my child and the one I would pour out my life with in ministry and oh so much more!

I remember being married in  Bible College in Iowa, barely surviving financially, and the last semester of my Senior year, six weeks before graduation, driving 90 miles to the hospital to give birth to our son Andrew in one of the worst blizzards in ten years.  Yea, a Southern girl from South Alabama in a blizzard!  No flights, no family and a hard labor and birth that put me in ICU after Andrew was born.  This left us feeling very alone…and God spoke encouragement to both of us.

I remember getting the call for my husband to pastor his first church and God sending a message through his Word to “go” was enough. God spoke…our lives have never been the same.  The house I loved went on the market, the gigantic yard sale happened, the moving van was packed and hello Tennessee.  It was a boots on the ground experience that was rich, exciting and prepared us for what was yet ahead.

Living his message has been a life breathing mixture of God writing our story.  There have been countless adventures; too many for this post.

As I remember some of the important decisions and times where God gave direction and confirmation, I can’t praise him enough!  Remembering gives courage.  He wants the best for us.  Every day, no matter what is happening, God is with us.  Claiming his unshakable joy while living out the mission he has set our feet on is indescribable!

“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass.”  Psalm 37:5

When decision or direction is needed…God is our messenger!

A trip down memory lane helps us remember God’s faithfulness.  I’d love to hear how God has been faithful in your life.
